Buying an Electric Vehicle Will Save You Time and Money-And Make You Cooler

Ok. So, maybe your goal in life (at this point) isn't to be the coolest person in Sylvania. Been there, done that. We get it. But we can definitely help with the other two. Because buying an electric or hybrid in Sylvania will help you keep more money in your pocket. And you'll avoid early morning trips to the gas station before you begin your commute. We'll show you why buying an alternative fuel vehicle will reduce expenses. And make your commute more enjoyable. Here's how.

Keep Your Money and Your Time

We'll cut straight to the chase. Would you rather spend $70 to fill your gas tank for the week? Or pay $16? Because that's the difference between gas and electric/hybrid vehicles. On average, it takes about $16 to fully charge your hybrid or electric vehicle at a public charging port in Bedford. Further, charging an electric vehicle at home will cost almost $55/month. So, you can do the math on that.

You can also subtract the cost of synthetic oil changes, spark plug replacement, and all other maintenance that comes with gas-powered engines. And those early morning trips to the gas station-the one that makes you late for work in Toledo? Forget about it. Because you can charge your vehicle overnight and have enough juice to last through the workweek. Save time. Save money. Buy an alternative fuel vehicle from our Chevy dealership in Sylvania.

So Different, Yet So Alike

Hybrids and Electric Vehicles (we'll call them EVs from here on out) are in the same family. Both use alternative fuel to power your vehicle, but that's where the differences begin. Traditional hybrid vehicles utilize a gas-powered engine as their main power source. Their smaller, battery-powered backup is utilized for short-distance drives and replenishes power through regenerative braking.

Plug-in Hybrids are set up in reverse fashion. They have a larger battery as the main power source and utilize their gas-powered engine as a backup. These models also require recharging by plugging into a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 charger. And if you're ready to commit to fully electric power, you'll land in an EV. These vehicles eliminate emissions, trips to the gas station and have greater performance capability than many gas-powered engines.

EVs and Hybrids are Made for You

More Efficient Driving

We mentioned how you'd be able to stiff-arm gas stations from Perrysburg to Maumee. But that also means that when gas prices go up, you won't be one of the people complaining on social media. Not with your efficient hybrid or EV. Because when prices go up, your hybrid or EV power will kick in. Smooth sailing-or driving, in your case. And these vehicles will also provide better gas mileage and traveling distance with a full battery/gas combination. Some of our alternative fuel vehicles can travel over 500 miles with a full battery/gas tank.

Tax Credits

Who doesn't like a little extra money? Especially when it's a no-strings-attached giveaway from Uncle Sam. When you buy an EV or Hybrid, you'll have the potential for tax credits worth thousands of dollars. It's just one extra incentive for you to switch to alternative fuel.

But, Where Will I Charge it?

Just about anywhere. And we mean it. A quick Google search on your smartphone will reveal a network of public charging stations from here to Lambertville and beyond. Hundreds of thousands of public charging locations are in the country, with more on the way. Soon, they'll be just as common as gas stations. But when you're not out and about, you can utilize a Level 1 or Level 2 Charger from home.

Level 1 uses a standard outlet and will give you about 2-5 miles of range per hour. A Level 2 charger, with professional installation at your home, can provide 10-20 miles of range per hour. Level three chargers are considered "fast chargers" and serve the same purpose as public gas stations. That's convenience. That's efficiency. That's an EV or Hybrid near Lambertville.

So, here we are. A lot full of Chevy hybrids and EVs while you're still on the fence. It's ok. We get it. Alternative fuel vehicles may not be for everyone. But it could be for you. Go ahead and test it out for a little bit and see if you like it. Absorb the tax credit and drive it for a few years. If you don't like it, we'll buy it back. Because there will always be a market for new or used EVs and Hybrids in Sylvania. If you're ready to test one out, we have a few in stock that will rock your socks. And if you're still looking for that "cool" factor, it'll come free with any of our new Chevy hybrids or EVs.
